For Sale: 1940 era CAA, the forerunner of the FAA, Boatanchor
transmitter. According to the nameplate, it is an Ultra High Frequency Air
Port Transmitter, type TUI. The frequency range is 126-132 MC. Air
Associates, Inc of Los Angles manufactured this TX for the CAA. The
contract date is October 27, 1942. The transmitter weights a "ton"! It
consists of four drawers two RF sections, a modulator (I assume AM but
could be MCW) and a heavy power supply. The 4-foot cabinet that these
drawers slide into is also quite heavy. I assume that the two RF section
are redundant. The final of each is an 829B. Unsure of the value of this
transmitter, it is a buyers market! I need to move it to make room.
