Hello everyone. I am about to post both these items on EBAY and
thought I would offer them to the group first.

Both these items are like new, in original packaging with small
exceptions as noted for the GPS unit.

1. Yaesu VX-5R tri-band HT. This ht is about the size of a package
of cigaretes and yet it puts out a full 5 watts and has an
astronomical amount of feaatures. It covers the 6 meter, 2 meter
and 70 cm ham bands. It also receives darn near everything else
including weather, aircraft, tv broadcast, am broadcast, fm
broadcast. It does not receive cell phone freqs and I do not think it
could be modifed for such. This thing has more bells and whistles
than any ht I have ever seen. A full description giving all the
features of this radio can be found at www.yaesu.com.
This radio is as new, original box, instruction manual, wall charger,
rubber duck and 6 meter extention for rubber duck. Warranty has
never been filled out and is included in box.
I am also including the programming software and all necessary
cables to interface this ht with your computer, allowing you to
program it from your computer. I purchased this software about 2
weeks ago and it works fine. It cost about $50.00.
Why am I selling? This thing is just too complicated for me to
enjoy, the learning curve is too much. I am looking for offers, either
cash or partial trade. I am primarily interested in a Yaesu ft-530
dual band ht in excellent condition or an alinco dj-580 dual band ht
in excellent condition.

2. GARMIN GPS III PLUS....
Not too many months ago, this was GARMIN's top of the line GPS
unit for consumers. It is a 12 parallel channel unit and will display
your locationin real time on the built in map of cities, roads and
highways, along with your direction of travel, your speed and your
altitude. It also allows downloading of street level detail maps into
the gps unit. Even without the garmin mapsource cd (darn thing
cost about 100.00) the built in maps are very good and fairly well
detailed. It shows by name the little street in Buford Georgia where
I live and this street is only about 1/4 mile long.

This unit is not new, I have had it about a year, but it still looks
new, still in the original box, has instruction manual and interface
cable to allow connection to your computer.

If this is sold or traded to a fellow ham, I will include a cdr that I
think you will like, especially if you own the gps unit!

Pictures, descriptions, operating manuals for gps unit and
operating manual for the mapsource software are available at
www.garmin.com.

I love to use this thing in my car feeding the gps signal into a
laptop computer running microsoft's streets software.

The only thing missing from the box is a wrist strap, quick
reference card, and the two small pieces of velcro.

Again, I am looking for offers, either cash or trade.. In addition to
the two ht's listed in my wish list above, I am interested in a
desktop computer minimum 500 mhz, with cd-r and large hard
drive.
Please no packard bell or compaq... Hewlett Packard would be
considered.
thanks for reading....if you are at all interested please contact me
soon as once they are posted on ebay I will have to live with it for
the duration of the auction.
