Well folks this is going to be a very busy Saturday! June 1st is packed
with all sorts of activities. Starting early on Saturday morning you have
the Hurricane-fest!
The Hurricane-fest will be held at Chester Electronics, 311 Missouri Ave.
N., in Largo!
Start time is at 0700, that's 7 A.M., really early in the morning! Talk-in
will be on the Wormhole repeater on 146.850 with a pl tone of 123.0!
Once you have visited the Hurricane-fest why not continue your Hurricane
activities with a stop down at the Hurricane Expo!
Get Prepared for this year's Storm Season at Hurricane EXPO
Experts predict a busier than normal hurricane season! But, you can find out
what to do before, during and after a big storm hits at the Pinellas County
Hurricane EXPO 2002, Saturday, June 1st, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St.
Petersburg College Gibbs campus, 6605 Fifth Avenue North in St. Petersburg.
This year we're spotlighting the special needs of south county residents and
the Gulf Beaches! WTSP-TV10 Chief Meteorologist Dick Fletcher hosts a
special presentation in the SPC Music Center. County emergency management
officials will provide essential information to help you safeguard your
family and property during a storm. Showtimes are at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m.
and 12:30 p.m.
Discover new ways to pinpoint your evacuation level! Preview the county's
newest Internet technology that will allow you to map out the evacuation
level of your property and your entire neighborhood.
In the college gymnasium, see the latest products and services designed to
help you prepare your home for the worst Mother Nature has to offer.
Register to win some great prizes, including a 1600 watt generator from Jim
& Slim's Tool Supply valued at more than $1,000, and a Masterbuilt
Grill/Smoker from Clearwater Gas. Plus, learn what community services might
be available to help you rebuild in the wake of a storm's fury.
You're never too young to learn about hurricane safety. The kids will have a
good time as they learn about weather and safety with entertaining
interactive activities.
A visit to the EXPO is essential before going through this year's hurricane
season. It's all the official information you'll need, all in one place.
The ninth annual Pinellas County Hurricane EXPO 2002 is sponsored by the
Board of County Commissioners, St. Petersburg Times, Florida Power

The air ways will be full of special events and you can try to contact
the Weather Centers while mobile going to the Hurricane-fest and the
Hurricane Expo! You may be able to contact the Ruskin Center on UHF/VHF/HF.

The West Central Florida SKYWARN Group would like to invite and encourage
