[FlexNet] TNC Compatability with 6pack ROM

Difficulties with late model MFJ TNCs has occurred during our attempt to 
start a FlexNet node in Rochester, NY.  Only one of four TNC's worked. 
I am inquiring about modifications to the MFJ-1278 and MFJ-1278B TNC's 
that will enable them to be used as a FlexNet node controller.  In all 
cases the TNC's worked with the stock MFJ ROM.  The problem occurs when 
the 6pack ROM (V3.3g) is installed.  The problem symptoms were 
consistent using 2 different computers. We have no problem using the 
MFJ-1274 TNC.

     1) MFJ-1278 (serial port problem using the FlexNet ROM, "no device 
present" indicated when using a terminal program, the PTT light remains on)
     2) MFJ-1270C (serial port problem using FlexNet ROM, the DCD light 
remained on)

Also, the MFJ-1278B is not compatible because it has a 16 pin ROM but 
the 6pack ROM is 14 pins.

Question:
    Is there something we can do to the MFJ-1270C or MFJ-1278 to make it 
work using 6pack?
    What are the TNC models that are successfully being use by your 
FlexNet node?
    Do you have 2 TNC's that we may purchase (Tiny-2)
