[FlexNet] cross port digipeating - I wish KISS.EXE was an L1 driver :-(

Hi Guys and Gals,
Re: Flexnet 3.3g (DOS) - yes some of us still use it
and are VERY happy with it :-)
I have a 3 port flexdigi node. Port 0 is a 6pack port
(a Tiny II with 6pack eprom). Port 1 is a ser12e port
(a baycom board). Port 2 is a KISS link to my NOS machine.
Users can cross port digi from the Port 0 frequency over
to the Port 1 frequency no problem, but they can't cross
port digi from Port 0 to the Port 2 KISS link. All I get
is pure JUNK data showing up on Port 2, and usually this
locks up the port, sometimes the data does not show.
After giving it some thought, I came to the conclusion
that Port 0 and Port 1 are true L1 drivers, whereas the
KISS link is NOT an actual L1 driver by design.
In other words, it *seems* that you can't digi from
a true L1 port to a KISS link port.
Any thoughts or further comments ?
I was really hoping that this would work. NOS does not
have built in 6pack support. I'm tempted to try and write
a driver for it just to make this work, but that's a fair
undertaking with the amount of time I have lately :-(
