Fellow FLEX-NET Fans:
I have been working very hard in my retirement from the Computer
Industry..Hi!
I got the FLEX-NET Bug and it won't let me go. I thought I was cured and
unable to stop. BUT,
I'm facing up to it now, I've lit my candle. I'm a confirmed WORKAHOLIC!
I think I have something to share with the group that I has been a
relaxation to me and might be to the "New World" Users configuring
Flex-Net for Windows.
Through all the documents, I'm sure is the one daunting tasks that
scares away sane operators from the FLEX-Net. There is one document that
stood out to me. It's "winsm.pdf". I can't find the English equivalent.
I have loosely translated it using my two(2) years of High School German
from 1968-69. It follows:
------------------------------
"A separate "Hardware Configuration" must be made for FLEX-NET to enable
the PTT features. A separate 'boot' option has to be made available for
this.
The soundcard modem board and the soundcard board have some dissimilar
hardware. So, no conflicts arise, you must understand when PACKET is
running. You have to make another "Hardware Profile" for when you boot
up the new configuration. One must boot up into normal WINDOWS95 the
open the "Hardware Manager"(*START MENU--->SETTINGS--->CONTROL
PANEL--->SYSTEM--->HARDWARE PROFILE). You want to copy the "Original
Configuration". I made a "PROFILE" named 'One Soundcard Board' ".
(*NOTE: the asterisk means I added this for clarity and was not part of
the translation. Like I said this is a loose translation ...Hi)
--------------------------------
"winsm.pdf" also had graphics of the Window's system panels that show
where these items are changed. This document crystallized, for me, what
was needed for a Window's FLEX-NET configuration. Plus, this focused my
questions, I should be asking.
Well here is my two(2) cent question!:
Does anyone know where I can get the EXACT document in English?
(Wo ist die Englander documentation "winsm.pdf" ?)
That's all for now? Many more questions will follow!
