Hi Charles and group,
I'm sure everyone remembers the excellent DOS based BCM 1.4x, which
is Baycom's mailbox software that can run on top of a FlexNet TSR. I
have nothing but good things to say about it. I still run the Baybox
software on top of FlexNet which controls my PacComm TINY-2 using
the 6pack eprom/driver combination. Excellent software !!!
I stumbled across the recent OpenBCM project, see URL below :
http://dnx274.dyndns.org/baybox/
I have not had time to check, but I know there is a WinNT version,
and I'm guessing that perhaps this version *might* use the FlexNet32
system, but I could very well be wrong. It would not hurt to check
it out, none the less.
The OpenBCM is an entension to the original BCM (Baybox) project.
Let me know what you find.
> Also, what the heck is "Flextalk", the app that comes with Flex32?
I'm pretty sure it takes the input from a microphone, converts it to
digital form, and passes it to another Flextalk *box* over an AX25
connection, or perhaps via UI frames (connectless, datagrams), where
it then comes out the soundcard to a speaker. That's my guess - a
voice connection via digital link between two PC's running the same
Flextalk over FlexNet32 system.
