Hi Keith and group,
Florida State DCAT hade three ECOMM units. The equipment was purchased at
county actions and equipment was donated by local radio clubs and members.
The build out was done by team members.
The operation of the equipment and maintenance was out of pocket.
Developing a CP this way cost a lot. The budget was about $12,000 a year
for all three units.

In time of an emergency priceless
If we where activated by the County, State, CAP or Feds out of pocket cost
was covered. Any drills and PR events we paid for. We did have grant money
for satellite and cell phone service but this runs year to year.
Most County CP have MOUs so ARES groups can get them for Field Day but not
during a emergency and most can not leave the area of operation i.e.
county/city so supporting a adjacent county was is out. I see you are from
Seminole County. Look up a Bob Colbert with the SO. He may have some
additional info for your project. Bob and I our Communication Specialist
with the State MST/DMAT FL-6.
Here is some links for CP info and photos.

Does your ARES group have a Jump Team Communications Vehicle and/or
trailered mobile antenna setup?
If so, could you provide some details about it regarding description
(pictures would be good), equipment, how you procured it to begin with,
estimates on what it cost to obtain and build out, estimated annual
operating and maintenance costs, who funds it and any other information
of interest you'd care to share about it.
