ITA's intent to file such a petition has been public knowledge for a
while now. ITA (Industrial Telecommunications Association) is a
professional/trade association and frequency coordinator involved with
private commercial/industrial two-way radio system operation. I have no
further information on this matter at this time.

Hello, well another month has gone by here at ITA and I wanted to let
everyone know what has been going on and what we are looking to in the
near
future.

Family Radio Service (FRS) Petition

On August 22, 2002, ITA filed a Petition for Rulemaking (Petition) in the
FRS radio spectrum.  In our Petition we asked the Commission to prohibit
daily business communications on these frequencies.  We explained how we
believed, from earlier proceedings on this issue, that FRS was
established
for families and friends to use, not businesses.  We also noted that
radios
operating on the spectrum specifically allocated for business use are
much
more reliable.
