To All FISTS ops:

I will be on board the USS Pampanito submarine SS383 and operating CW
throughout the day on Saturday June 7th, 2014 ( 70 years, one day since
D-Day), on or around 14.058 and 21.058. We are operating the subs
station in commemoration of the "Museum Ships on the Air" event. Other
ham ops will also be using the station on SSB.

Listen for the call NJ6VT. NJVT was this sub's old W.W.II radio call.

I will be operating from the sub's radio room running 100 watts to the
115 foot long wire off the port side of the conning tower to the stern
of the boat. I will be giving out the sub's FISTS number ( a 3 point
number for FISTS awards ) as well as it's CC number.

As you can imagine, the radio room of the sub is quite small. If we get
more than two people in there we have to take turns breathing. hi hi

Here are two links that might be of interest to you:

The first is from NJ2BB's web page about the Museum Ships on the Air
including a list of participating ships and subs.

This second link is from my own website showing some of my old photos of
the USS Pampanito from years past:

Hope to work you on Saturday June 7th.
