[Fists] FISTS Four Seasons Activity

Fellow members of FISTS

The "Winter Season" of the Four Seasons Activity ended on Thursday, 
March 31 at 2359 UTC.

The "Spring Season" began on Friday, April 1 at 0000 UTC.

Information on this Activity was printed on page 21 of Issue 1, 2011 of 
The Keynote.  Contrary to the last line this is not a UK activity.

As noted therein: "Seperate awards issued for each chapter of FISTS, 
i.e. FISTS EU; NA; DU and EA; Endorsed as appropriate."

     "EU" = FISTS Europe 
     "NA" = FISTS North America
     "DU" = FISTS Down Under
     "EA" = FISTS East Asia

I found it a lot of fun during the "Winter Season", I had 59 QSO's which 
lasted at least 5 minutes, 32 of which were with FISTS members.

I had QSO's with FISTS members K2YWE, KS3S, NPGJ, and WA8KOQ
which lasted more than 30 minutes for which I got the maximum score of 
12 points for each of them.  As you may know these QSO's qualify for the 
FISTS Rag Chewers' Award.  

I had 10 QSO's with DX,  five of which were with FISTS members.  The most 
interesting were the two with Milan, OK1KW in Praha on March 31.  First one 
at 2058 UTC on 17 Meters and then again at 2320 UTC on 30 Meters.

Now that Solar Cycle 24 seems to be helping, I highly recommend this activity 
as a way to chat with folks throughout the world.  It sure beats just exchanging 
meaningless "599" signal reports with them.

Keep pounding the brass.
