I thought this might be of interest - I'll put it in the Keynote I'm putting together now, but think Dick deserves some recognition now!

People have reported getting their Keynote last Thurs, so hopefully yours will get to you soon if it hasn't already. No flames, please, I had computer problems and lost a couple issues, but we should be back on track now.

I thought this might be of interest to you and FISTS.

I entered the CQ WW DX Contest (CW) in 2008. Having been a CW only operator
my first 25 years as a ham ( I now work RTTY also, NEVER SSB) I work CW
contests by hand using my Bencher key and a keyer. I use a contest logging
program just to log contacts and keep my score, not to run the contest.
Today in the mail I received the following certificate:

2008 CQ World-Wide DX Contest CW mode: 1ST PLACE LOW-POWER SINGLE
OPERATOR UNITED STATES 10th CALL AREA

ALSO - #13 NORTH AMERICA and #9 UNITED STATES.

Not too shabby for a ham who turned 83 years old on September 15th. I do
believe that CW keeps my mind sharp as I age.
