Thank you Graham for your research and for bringing up the possible and
present problems.
I believe the FISTS calling frequencies should be revisited by the
membership. As the band used by CW has changed in the USA, it changes
International operating practices.
I believe the 058 type of frequency is now too high in the band - two years
ago it was perfect - except of course for 40 meters where EU and Asia have
different assignments.
I'd like to suggest and ask for the National or Regional Coordinators of
FISTS assign a suitable person (or persons) for working with the other ITU
areas to see if we can find:
1) Suitable frequencies which can be used world-wide on each and very band
by the most amateur licensees in the various countries.
2) Region 2 may assign a additional 40 meter frequency to allow more usage
by national FISTS contacts, other Regions and/or countries could have FISTS
frequencies for bands which are allowed only to that country - but not
Internationally.
3) Any suitable addition that is agreed upon by those coordinators for the
benefit of the International and National FISTS members.
