In a batch of cards that I received today from the W4-QSL Bureau was one from
W3MCG / VE4

It confirmed his QSO with K4IKF on 21 MC CW at 1902 CST on 16 Nov 1958.

That QSO was made during the second weekend of the 1958 CW Sweepstakes
and back then my call was K4IKF.

It took almost 50 years for the card to get delivered to me.

Amazingly I found my log for the 1958 Sweepstakes Contest and sure enough
that contact was in the log.

Back then the Exchange in the SS Contest was:

        Number - Call - RST - Section - Time - Date

I had sent him: 181 - K4IKF - 599 - VA - 2002 - 16

And I got from him: 525 - W3MCG/VE4 - MAN - 1902 - 16

On the Log Summary I find:

        Bands Used: 3.5, 7.0, 14.0, 21.0
Number different stations worked - 211
Number different sections worked - 52
Total Hours of Operation: - 14
Input Power: 120 Watts Type Transmitter: DX-100
Receiver: HQ-129-X Antenna: Trap type All-Band

Scoring:
        422 points X 52 Sections X 1.25 Pwr Mult = 27,430 Claimed Score

My Log does not show sending W3MCG a QSL card. So now I need to find
out if Karl R. Medrow is still alive and kicking and whether he still has the
W3MCG call. And then I'll need to find some of my old K4IKF cards - Hi !

How about that for bringing back old memories - Hi !
