[Fists] calling frequency

Hello Dan,

I believe your remarks (below) are based on an incorrect assumption
which led to your incorrect conclusion. I have never gotten that
inference from anything that has been said on this reflector.

I'm quite positive - in fact I would absolutely stake my life on it -
that everyone on this list knows that there is "so much more to ham
radio than CW these days".

Many - including myself - believe that we'd be in a sorry state if we
didn't have CW.

Personally though, I dislike listening to music on CW, I prefer either
an AM, FM or a digital for that. Pictures likewise are impossible on
CW, not very clear on SSTV or radiofascimile, but very clear using
DREAM or other digital transmission.

CW on a guarded frequency - just like the bugler of old signaling
attack or retreat - is excellent for communicating short but vital
information in an immediate and reliable manner that is not dependant
on much more than the bugle or key. However neither are secure from
evesdropping, wind noise or lightning discharge noise.
