[Fists] QRP/Fists frequency and rig questions...

Hey, fellow coders...

I'm interested in building a QRP transceiver kit of some sort (I'm
still researching the options).

I am curious on which band I might want to focus my QRP operation.
I'm looking at evening or morning operation. I am not a fast fist,
but someday with good practice, I will increase. But, for now, I want
to find a good segment of the various bands on which I can pace myself
and 1) meet fellow coders, 2) slowly challenge myself without getting
frustrated.

What I am wonder about, specifically, are the following questions:

1) With current propagation (start of the new cycle 24), what band is
most used for my sort of operation during the morning, early to late
evening, or weekend days?

2) What frequencies on that band are great for QRP, but not for
mainstream speeders who are DXing and chasing lots of points (i.e.,
what are good chat frequencies for a QRPer)?

3) What QRP kits (transceivers) are good for RECEIVING (filters/stability)?

I appreciate any help you might offer. My budget is low -- under $100
if possible.

Thanks!!
