I suppose that some old-timers use a bug because they started using  
them before paddles and keyers became commonplace, and just can't  
seen to learn how to use a paddle. Others possibly use them for the  
challenge of using one.

I think that's OK as long as the code they're generating is readable.  
It doesn't have to sound machine-generated, but does need to be  
easily readable. On the other hand, I think there are quite a few ops  
out there who have a lousy fist with a bug, but blow that off by  
saying, "Oh, that's just my bug accent. I think that's what Mike  
(rightly) objects to.
