Happy we are fighting over keys. I use two. One is a cheap brass Ameco
that I bought in 1992 when I was first licensed. Still works great. Down the
road I bought aBencher keyer which is a fine paddle. I cannot use a bug, but
I have heard splendid CW from a bug over the years. The Bencher is
connected to an MFJ Electronic Keyer which allows speed control, etc. Both keys are
connected to the radio by a split so that I can use either. If the other
person reads very slow, I find it easier to send on the straight key although I
imagine you can get great speed out of it. Also like to work with SKCC
members many of whom are Fists. I also built a Tick 3 keyer which is used to send
CW. It sure is a great hobby. I stare at the mike and it looks at me in
bewilderment. I tell it to rest on the radio and enjoy. 73
