I have been reading the reflector and wanted to let you know that I'm
working on getting a FISTS "Code is Fun" type pamphlet/trifold/info pack
(whatever it turns out to be) written to be handed out at VE exams,
hamfests, where ever members want to give them out.
Also, check out www.weeklyreader.com this week- a web page for a kids
magazine that is in all the schools. I do believe that kids are the future
of code, and if we get them interested before they are told that it's "too
hard" "dead", etc they will find it fun and easy to learn. I don't know how
often they will be willing to run Morse code articles, but I'm working on
it. We're also offering the K7QO code course to schools.
We're also working on a code proficiency certification program that is
quite ambitious. After the major details are hammered out, I'll be sending
out a postcard via postal mail to members so I can get feedback from
everyone and see if there is the interest and fine tune (or not pursue the
project) from the feedback we get.
It is said that Living Well is the Best Revenge....I think of it more as
Seeing Code Thrive is the Best Revenge. They can knock us down, but they
can't keep us there.
