I've been sitting here working on my computer for a couple of hours and  
listening to the 40 meter CW traffic. I've had to open up my passband to 2 kHz  to 
copy both side of most of the QSO's. This is just plain poor ham radio and it 
 waste 2X spectrum! I unstood the problem when most of us were rock bound but 
 with todays rigs, it's a piece of cake to zero beat the other guy.

ummm zero beat??? u r kidding right. Funny though that you  seem to indicate 
it might have been on a traffic net. Traffic net ops are  SUPPOSED to know 
what they are doing. 

Outside of traffic nets  though, these days when you tell a guy he has chirp, 
he replies that he likes  the chirp.... if it ain't cw, it's cb... heck, 
sometimes when it is cw, it's cb.  better get used to it. I will zero beat but I 
don't count on the other guy to do  so anymore.

What a shame.
