[Fists] Doesn't anyone know how to zero-beat anymore?

Hi all.....I think a lot of this "error" comes from using the RIT control
and also what is comfortable "tone". I like to copy using a little higher
freq audio tone, so that pushes me off freq a bit. If the RIT is on, this
further increases the error. Back in the day, it was easy to zero because
you just turned off the BFO, and tuned the VFO to "zero" beat. Todays
equipment does not allow that in some cases. My PRO III has rit and a bfo.
If either of these is not where it should be, I will be off "zero"
beat.....Hope everyone has a spiffy new year...73
