I'm not quite sure how you get from the post from K0HB to the post from
KJ7UN. I'm a Fist member and I've never refused....nor have I ever HEARD a
refusal to chat on a Fist frequency...at ANY speed...any proficiency...with
anybody....for any reason!! ALL are welcome!!

Merry CHRISTmas !!

Sending CC's may delay your post. If you feel that your post needs to go to
more than one destination please send them separately.
Are you proposing that SKCC members are not wanted on the FISTS list? Or
just not wanted for QSOs on the air?

I'm with you. I got my Extra back in 1963, long before all this
crap about exclusive band segments and special call signs
for different license classes and whatever.
Back then I really didn't care how fast a guy could send
code, I only cared that we could have a chat about something
interesting. Generals, Conditionals, Advanced, or Extra
were all mixed together in the same spectrum --- no
special call sign to prove how fast you beeped --- no
notation in the CallBook what your license class was --- nobody
cared how fast you could send beeps, or what Morse Code
test you took.
I'm not sure why I'd want to see anybody's "CW Certificate",
or look it up on the internet. If he can send Morse that I can
copy, then I really don't care, not even a little bit, if he even
ever TOOK a test. The only "test" that counts is whether
I can copy his code.
I have no idea what an SKCC member is, but my guess is
that it's somebody who really doesn't want to chat but just
wants "my number". Well, I've decided that I forgot "my
number", but I'll certainly be happy to chat, even if you
never took a Morse test in your life.
73 and Merry Christmas,
de Hans, K0HB
