Of course, Stan also knows that the punctuation marks should be complete and
give their typographical symbols!
Period (.) .-.-.-
Comma ( , ) - -..- -
Question Mark ( ? ) ..- -..
End of Message ( + ) .-.-.
End of Transmission ( SK ) ...-.-
Break ( BK ) -...-.-
Double Dash or Equal Sign (=) -....-
Besides AR meaning plus, and BT meaning equals sign, hyphen -....- means
minus sign, and the letter X is used for multiplication, and the slant sign
(DN) / is used for division.
Thus 2-1/2 would be sent as:
2 hyphen 1 slant sign 2
Just as it is typed!

Sending CC's may delay your post. If you feel that your post needs to go to
more than one destination please send them separately.
Now, we FISTS members know the "standard" punctuation marks and special
signals used in Morse Code:
Period (.) .-.-.-
Comma ( , ) - -..- -
Question Mark ( ? ) ..- -..
End of Message ( AR ) .-.-.
End of Transmission ( SK ) ...-.-
Break ( BK ) -...-.-
We've put together a Morse Quiz on the QSL Bureau Web Site
<www.fistsburo.org> of ten
less freqently used punctuation marks and special signals.
For a challenge, go to Item 11 on the index page and click on QUIZ.
We've had ten winners to date, see if you can join them.
Send your answers to me via Email <k4uk at rev.net> or via
