I had a great time running KN0WCW / 4 / QRP despite lousy band
conditions. Here's at quick look at the results:
A total of 104 QSO's with 79 different FISTS members.
Thirty-one Two-Way QRP contacts - 27 of which were with FISTS members.
Greatest surprise was on Friday, November 19 at 2118 UTC when Doug, WL7CDC
in Anchorage, AK answered my CQ on 21.060 MHz. He was also running QRP at
5 Watts. Signal reports sent 539 received 549. We had a 12 minute QSO.
As is the case with much QRP operation, a lot of time was spent sending CQ
with no answers. But I had the K2 programmed to send:
CQ CQ CQ FISTS de KN0WCW / 4 / QRP K
So I could be working on other things, like sorting QSL cards while sending
CQ's.
QSO's were made on 160, 80, 40, 30, 20, and 15 Meters. But I had no
answers to my CQ's
on 17, 12 or 10 Meters.
It was great fun and I was sorry to see it end. Been thinking of putting
W4FCR on QRP
so members can get three points toward their Two-Way QRP Century Award.
