Dear Fellow FISTS members:
Today was my day to operate as KN0WCW/2. As I was setting up the Buddipole and K1 in the backyard, my 3 year old son had an accident where he tripped and fell. Normally no big deal; but a small pebble got lodged underneath the skin of his forehead. My wife (an RN) could not get it out; so this necessitated a trip to the local ER.
After several hours and a few X-rays later; the doctor located the small piece of pebble under the skin and made a small incision and got it out. He was considering leaving it there; but was worried about infection, so he opted to remove it. After the bleeding was stopped, some Dermabond (skin crazy glue) was applied instead of stitches. My son is now home, running around like nothing ever happened; but Dad is somewhat, shall we say spent ... shot .... played out?
I really miss the opportunity to be KN0WCW/2 today; but I will make up for today during my efforts as KN0WCW/2 on July 4th and 5th. I apologize to any of you who were looking forward to working KN0WCW from New Jersey - but I'll make up for it and be on the air that much more over the 4th of July weekend. Again ... my apologies; but family comes first !
