Hi Everyone:
Just wanted to share something that is a lot of fun in case you are
bored with the awful band conditions and are wringing your hands
in anticipation of the problems with BPL.
I have downloaded a service which is FREE (Yes, FREE!!) and it
is called Skype. It is a Voice Over Internet which is full
duplex, encrypted, completely private, and has the capability
to even have conference with multiple people. It is very easy
to download and even easier to use. All you need is either
Windows XP or Windows 2000 and a mic/sound card. I have been
talking to hams in Arizona, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, and
all over the USA. An additional bonus is being able to talk to my sister in California as long and as often as I want, and to other
non ham friends. My good friend Mike, N7FC got me started in it
and I am having a ball. Try it, you might get a surprise. You
