Hi FISTS,

This weekend is the WR Friends' Day QSO Party (I hesitate to say "contest"
since ragchewing is FB). It might be a good chance to get some FISTS numbers
and warm up for the FISTS Sprint in July. C U There!

WorldRadio Friends' Day QSO Party
Every year on the last weekend in June, it's the ARRL's great Field Day.
Now, the first Saturday/Sunday in June, it's WorldRadio's Annual Friend's
Day.

>From your letters, and in-person meetings at conventions, we do believe that
WorldRadio subscribers are the finest Amateur Radio operators.

They're friendly.

You should meet each other! Great people should get together. Run into old
friends and make new friends.

Start: 1800Z Saturday 05 June 2004

Stop: 1800Z Sunday 06 June 2004
Maximum operating time allowed = 16 hours total hours

Bands: All HF (No WARC bands) and VHF bands. ALL MODES! Modes may be mixed.
Stations may be worked on different bands and modes. For example, the same
WR Friend may be worked, in separate contacts, on both SSB and CW on 20
meters, then again on 40 meter SSB and CW.
Look for CW contacts on the half-hour marks.

Call: "CQ WR."

Exchange: First name, the first three numbers of your ZIP Code and whether
or not you are a WR subcriber.
Canadians give your province. Non-North Americans, give your country.

Scoring: Two points for each completed 2-way contact with a fellow
subscriber.
One point for each completed 2-way contact with a non-subscriber.
The multiplier is the total number of different first-three-digit ZIP codes
and provinces and countries.

Awards: Certificates will be awarded to the WorldRadio subscriber top-scorer
in each first 3-number designation ZIP code, Canadian province and country.
Also an Honorable Mention certificate will be awarded to others submitting
logs.
The certificates will be 8-1/2" x 11" and available for $1 and a No. 10
SASE.
QRP stations, 5W CW or 10W SSB, will be listed in their own category.

Deadline: Entries must be received at QSO Party, P.O. Box 807, Hadley, MI
48440 by 08 July 2004. WorldRadio will publish the results and give you the
credit you deserve.

Power: As a possible "tune up" for Field Day any station operating from any
non-"plug-in-the-wall" power source may add 100 points to their score.
So as to reduce RF pollution in North America, power is restricted to 150
Watts or less. Except non-North American stations may run their legal limit
to help facilitate intercontinental contacts.
