[Fists] K4UK Trip to the Maritimes

Hello FISTS:

My wife is anxious to again visit the Maritime Provinces of Canada.  She 
will be re-living a trip she made with two of her girl friends way back in 
1955.  We will begin by visiting a long lost cousin of hers in Houlton, 
ME.  And from there we plan to go into New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and 
Prince Edward Island.

So when she is driving I'll be operating mobile.  But, like when we visited 
Alaska in 2002, my wife will remind me that we are tourists on a vacation 
trip and not on a Ham DXpedition - Hi !

We plan to leave Moneta, VA this coming Sunday, August 1 and travel to 
Reston, VA to visit our son.  From there the itinerary will include 
overnight stops to visit friends in MD, PA, CT and ME.  We will be entering 
Canada on Saturday, August 7.

For those of you who need some of the "U" blocks for your NANFA you may be 
able to pick up "1U",  "2U",  "3U", "4U" and "9U" during our trip as I will 
be mobile /4,  /3,  /2,  /1,  /VE9,  /VE1 and  /VY2.

My mobile setup is a Ten-Tec Scout and a Hustler antenna system.  I will 
probably concentrate my operations on 40, 30 and 20 Meters.  But I will 
check 15 and 10 Meters periodically to see if they are open.  I do have 
Hustler resonators for 80, 17 and 12 Meters so depending upon conditions, I 
might even try operating on some of those bands.

I will have my K2 along for QRP operations.  And I will have my 40 Meter 
and 20 Meter Rock Mites along to try some QRPp.

While we are gone incoming mail for the FISTS QSL Bureau will be held at 
the Moneta Post Office.  I suspect there may be a couple large boxes full 
by the time we return.

I will update the QSL Bureau web site

leave.  But the next update will be after we have returned.

I look forward to working some of you folks while we are on this trip.
