Faster does not mean better. I actually drive slower than when I was a
teenager.

Ouch.

I will agree that there seem to be a fair share of sending
errors, excursions out
of the realm of standard operating procedure, etc. But there are those of
us who
are willing to put aside our "road rage", and teach by example through our
qsos.
I believe the majority of the FISTS fraternity fall into this group.

A lot of us experiment with different types of keys - quite a few of us go
from being
pretty smooth to downright fumbling when we get the bug or the cootie
out. Sometimes the
contacts need a lil burnishing, or perhaps that dot spring is a lil
light, but we work on
it, and we have fun doing it. It's not brain surgery. It's not bumbling
down the freeway
doing the Detroit lean with a cell phone in one hand, curling iron in the
other. It's the
old on-off keying of a radio wave using your favorite method. I'll keep
tolerating the
"fumbling ops" on .058 who don't seem to quite follow standard
procedure. They are there,
calling cq, or answering mine. Plugging away, doing their
best. preserving Morse.

Yes, accuracy does transcend speed.
Courtesy at *all* times.
