Well, as in any organization there are plenty of folks who are very willing
to say "somebody oughta" and then there are those that do. FISTS is all
volunteer and those that volunteer do so because they want to, without a need to see
their callsign in print, or anything else. Often it is a thankless job, but
there is plenty of input from those who do nothing but complain about the nets,
the awards, the QSL system, the Sprints, the keynote, etc etc. But these folks
never put one step forward to help. Now too long ago we had a self appointed
frequency cop(s) idiot who took it on himself(herself) to police the bands.
That was so far out it was pathetic. There is plenty of stuff to do in FISTS
besides "having QSO's". Info on the Century net is available from Nancy. I guess
you didn't see the notice in the Keynote the last few years that said
volunteers were needed???? AL/W8FAX/2192 EH
