Why would e-ham do an ARRL members only poll?? I suppose the poll reflects
the same responses as the FCC ticket proposals a few years back, when the speed
was dropped to 5 WPM. No one opposed those changes much either, and apparently
the no-code folks want it to go away worse that we want to do keep it. RIGHT
HERE ON THIS REFLECTOR, ops said that the FCC would NOT change the license or
CW requirements, so they did not respond. I believe the same is being seen
now. Perhaps some just feel it's a useless fight, and since it's easier to give
up, they did what they did the first time. Nothing.

BTW.....Yes we sure need more nets that no one checks into. By all means lets
start up some more slow speed nets, emphasis on S L O W W
 W. These nets usually don't live long, and NCS ops get bored. Then no one
will step up and take over when the op wants a break.

Did you ever wonder why the ARRL has never published the results of the polls
that the directors were supposed to take, or why the directors vote was not
itself polled????

We are rapidly approaching a no test era. Keep your poo poo's to yourself,
because it's on the way. How many advanced, extra, or general holder's under the
age of 9 were around 15 years ago??? NOW all you have to do to get a ticket
is be barely literate, pass a Morse test so easy it's stupid, buy ya a spiffy
new rig, buy ya that new vertical and stick it in the ground, go buy some coax
with the ends soldered on, hook it all up and TYALK ON THE RAYDEEOOO. Soon,
the first part will be removed.
I wonder if the new license forms that will be in the box of that new plastic
radio you buy will be half an inch thick, and written in 29 languages. We
MUST be equal and politically correct when we lower the levels for EVERYONE.
