Hi Guys I also resigned my membership and received a e-mail from Kathy at
the ARRL confirming they are canceling my membership and will issue credit
for the dues paid. I also received another e-mail from the div dir which
pretty much said I was welcome to discuss the proposal with him and how just
about everybody who did now agrees this is the right way to go. Anyway I am
outta there, Yes we can't bring the 50's back but we sure as hell can fight
to keep what little remaining dignity and traditions we still have.

To resign successfully (let us know if how you did it works), you should
contact the proper person at HQ, to wit:

[email protected]

or write her via snail mail or send a FAX to:

Kathy Capodicasa, N1GZO
Customer Service/Circulation Manager
ARRL, Inc.
225 Main Street, Newington, CT 06111-1494 USA

FAX: (860) 594-0303

Some have resigned without success. So this is a far better way to do it.

State you are resigning, and a reason if you feel compelled to explain, Give
them the info off your QST mailing label to verify you are who you say you
are, Your Director will be notified of your decision. You should also ask
for a refund of your unused dues, and if a life member, no harm in asking -
I was not but the process took one working day. I cc:d K1ZZ. I used script
font to "sign" the email, under which was my name in a printed font..

Former member, ARRL

A sample of my resignation letter, with some key info removed for purposes
of this mail, follows:
=====================================

My dues are paid through October 2006. My membership information from the
QST address label is:

xxxxxxxxxx 0204 10/2006 FO NY2V

I am resigning from the ARRL membership, effective now. I request that my
unused dues be refunded. This is not a subject for debate. It is a
well-thought-out decision based on divers considerations.

I will back this up with USPS written mail if needed to authenticate this
request. Please advise if this added step is necessary.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter,

Frederick V. Adsit (in blue script)

The reply was as follows:

Dear Frederick,
Thank you for your message to ARRL. We have canceled your ARRL membership
and are crediting your credit card for the unused portion of your dues. I
have copied your ARRL Division Director, Bernie Fuller, N3EFN, for his
information.
Thank you for letting us know your reasons for canceling.

Kathy Capodicasa, N1GZO

moments ago I just sent an email to W5JBP resigning from the ARRL. This
no-requirement HF ticket is the final straw. My Elmer (W9JMG an A1 op and
CW man)
would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what an organization he
belonged to for 60 yrs was doing.
