The ARRL propaganda machine has done it's work well. They have a good
following of hams believing that they alone have the FCC ear, and they alone can
affect the future of ham radio. Do you really believe that if it came right down
to billions of dollars, that the FCC would give a hoot about what the ARRL sez
about power line interference?? Or ham radio in general?? Please note the
recent history of the ARRL and the FCC. The cold shoulder that the ARRL has been
shown concerning previous license changes, privileges on 60 meters, and this
BPL stuff is a good example. The ARRL is a large publishing house that dabbles
in ham radio, and is failing in both it's mission, and it's financial
responsibilities. They published that their pension fund is near broke. I just recvd a
dunn in the mail for money to buy new station equipment. Seems to me it wasn't
long ago a bunch of stuff was donated??? I know of no one who listens to the
"bulletin", as it is readily available on Internet. When my membership runs
out, so will I. It has become obvious to all but life members, who PAY NO DUES
and are therefore on a free ride anyway, that the whole she-bang is in danger
of folding in on itself. I have talked to folks a little closer to the bone
than those on the reflectors. I know it's hearsay, but if you do some research
you will find the truth. It's all smoke. How much do you pay for a measly RCC
certificate these days??? It COSTS 10 cents to make. How much do you think it
costs to get cards checked for DXCC honor roll?? How about WAS?? The checkers
are volunteers, whats wrong with this picture?? How much do you think it cost to
send all those delegates to the International Radio get together?? Did they
need as many as they sent?? They claim they were totally taken by surprise at
the Morse issue, but it didn't take the other VEC's by any surprise, and they
had their proposals before the FCC before the ARRL big shots got home from the
party. The ARRL did not respond because they claimed they had to find out
"what the membership wanted". Many regions did not poll, and those that did never
gave out the numbers. Do you REALLY think the majority approved this latest
fiasco. I think not, since it was a total surprise to everybody. Wake up and
smell the ozone. The ARRL is NOT the honorable all seeing all hearing all doing
entity in ham radio they would have you believe.......they are politicians
trying to protect their own butts. Why didn't they poll the vote if it was so
important to the membership?? They poll every other mundane move they make. Could
it be that someone doesn't want the vote known??? Geeeeee........I
wonder.........Al W8FAX/2192 Extra.....................heavy
