Well, shut my mouth. After deploring the dearth of activity on 30m, last
night I did pretty well.
I turned the rig on just before 6:30 pm and promptly worked ZF2DX (Cayman
Islands) on 10110, getting a 599 report (although that might be a DX 599
report).
Next, I moved up to 10118, called CQ FISTS and got a call right away from
K4BXN. When that short QSO ended, K2HTX called me and we had a nice chat.
After that, I called CQ FISTS again and got a call from WA9FET. That's three
FISTS contacts in a row--my new personal best on 30m!
After signing with WA9FET, I heard VA3CWT calling CQ just below 10118 and
contacted him, and when that QSO ended, I called CQ again just once and got
a response from W8LPR. I signed with him at 8:00 pm.
So, all in all, quite a good evening working 30m. I was on for an hour and a
half, made six contacts, including one DX contact.
Maybe 30m isn't as bad as I thought.
73!
