Hi FISTS,
I tried sending this out as a mass email but it keeps getting bounced from
Earthlink as Spam...so pse share this with anyone you think may be
interested.
1) FISTS Spring Sprint this Saturday 1700Z-2100Z. Logs go to Dan N8IE.
Details on our web page http://www.fists.org
2) Dayton Hamvention: Please stop by the FISTS booth and say hello. If you
like, we will even put you to work, volunteers are always needed to pass out
info, chat with the folks who stop by and inquire about FISTS, and hand out
sample Keynotes, etc. We don't have a set schedule of workers, but if you
think you'll have some extra time and want to help out, please drop me,
Nancy WZ8C a note at [email protected] and let me know.
Our booth is in the same spot as past years, on the ramp between the
cafeteria area and the main arena.
3) The 4th Edition of the Pierpont book should be available at Dayton, so
plan on buying your copy there and saving on the postage. I don't know the
final price yet, but it should be aproximately $10. Other FISTS supplies
will be available also, so stock up and save!
We will have a FISTS get-together Friday night in conjunction with the QRP
Club Vendors Night at the Ramada. I'm still trying to get ahold of the QRP
contact person to finalize details, however one way or another, I have been
promised that there WILL be tables and chairs set aside for FISTS members
this year. Directions to the Ramada will be available at the booth.
4) THE RENEWAL DATES ON THE LABELS FOR ISSUE 2 OF THE KEYNOTE ARE WRONG.
The printer used an old list he had on his computer, instead of the one I
gave him. We haven't been able to determine just which list he used, but
crazy renewal dates are on them, like from 2001 and 2002. The "good side"
of the story is that we're getting a good price on Issue 3, but the bad side
is that it's been a nightmare for me because lots of people are writing,
rightfully concerned that their subs are messed up in my files.
Issue 3 goes in the mail Thursday, and should have the proper renewal date
on them.
If you didn't get a copy of Issue 2, please contact me and let me know if
you want a replacement issue, or would prefer credit for the missed issue.
Thanks for your patience!
Hope to see you in the Sprint -- I plan on starting out on 15 meters and
then moving to 40. Probably in the Novice portions, it's less crowded. Let's
spread out, if we're all on .058 it just makes a bunch of QRM.
