Unfortunately, the move is toward a single class low entry level=20
skill/knowledge=A0 type of ticket. The FCC seems tired of it all, the ARRL i=

"numbers" as that's all they talk about, and the new hams have not been arou=

long enuff to really appreciate what's happening to ham radio. I am just gla=

that I was able to get into this thing long before all this crap got started=

No matter what new comers say or do, or code no code stupidity, or lowering=20
of standards, or any of that stuff, I can say I remember when ham radio real=
ly=20
WAS something. The bands were full, a lot of folks didn't like code, but jus=
t=20
did it and no whining. Studied for the written....same thing. Novices either=
=20
upgraded or got the hell out and took up fishing. If you couldn't upgrade=20
within a year, ham radio was probably not for you anyway. The more the stand=
ards=20
are brought down, the further folks seem to want to lower them. All the=20
razz-a-ma-tazz with the ARRL taking poles and so forth is just so much B.S.=20=
How many=20
do they have to take to find out what folks want?? We can keep the bands goi=
ng=20
with our CW and our FISTS club, but I am afraid the main battle is=20
