On another topic...
I uploaded the very long list of FISTS clubs that Paul Beringer, NG7Z, put
together and was thinking that with only 7 clubs so far indicated on that
list as participating in the C2C this year that we are a bit behind on
sign-ups being so close to the event, Sept. 14th.
If clubs are reading this list or you know of a club that might participate,
please help us cajole them into signing up. As most of you know, the C2C is
a lot of fun and low-key pretty much for both "foxes" and "hunters". Doesn't
require contesting experience, and the clubs just have to get on the air
some of the full 24 hours, not the whole time, so it's good for even those
one-man/woman clubs. You get to hand out lots of 3 point contacts and as
many can attest the award certificates are top notch. Plus, this year we
have an additional multiplier rule for multiple QSOs on different bands that
adds to your points total, should make it even more fun.
We really need a minimum of 20 clubs, and would dearly love some DX clubs
(NZ clubs take note!), to make this a go. Please get out the word. We have
announcements coming out in the ARRL and Contesting.com and elsewhere, so
we're hoping for the 3rd one to be bigger than the first two by far, solar
cycle or no! HI!
