We also had a grand time in the C2C-02 Club Event. Three of us
operated. Buddy, W4YE took 40 Meters, Riley, K4ORD took 15 and 10 Meters
and I took 20 Meters.
Between the three of us, we worked 19 Clubs - one short of the requirements
for the "Platinum" certificate. And, I appreciate Dave staying with me on
20 Meters to complete our QSO, I'm sure it was rough copy on your end.
We had a total of 180 QSO's during the Event.
Biggest kick I had was on Saturday morning at 1107 UTC I tuned across a
"dead" 20 Meter band and heard nary a signal. So I called "CQ C2C" and was
promply answered by George at VK4RC the Redcliffe Radio Club in
Brisbane. We exchanged reports and then he wanted a QSO with his own call
VK4XY. So we did so. Then when we signed, all H - - - broke loose. There
must have been ten stations calling him.
I've always figured that the best thing to do when you tune across
a "dead" band is to call "CQ" - you'll often be quite surprised by who
responds - Hi!
Sure wish we could have found that 20th Club. Oh, well next year!
