Stan,


Assuming:

1. The 20A doesn't have anything else on it.

2. The 20A fuse has never blown at a time when you were not using the Scout.

3. Both fuses are the same time-rating ie; the 12A is not a slow-blow.



Then we can conclude:

1. The short that is blowing the fuse is NOT on the Scout side of the  12A
fuse.

2. Therefore the short must be located between the 12A fuse and the 20A
fuse.

3. The most likely place to look is in the connection on the cigarette
lighter plug or socket. Disconnect the cord from the Scout and check for a
short across the Cigarette plug while wiggling it around. Using a
flashlight,look carefully into the socket and make sure there is not metalic
debris in there.


I hope this helps. Sometimes an outside viewpoint can spot the source of a
problem much faster than the person that's been dealing with it for awhile.
