[Fists] It Takes a Village

Driving to work this morning I was enjoying the chatter on the local
repeater. One guy was telling another how he used to hate CW but over
time it had become his favorite mode.

While expounding on many of the virtues of CW, he commented that it was
a "life saving mode".

With that, another fellow jumped in and voiced his displeasure at the
code requirement as well as CW operators in general. And he summed up
his argument with, "and what do you mean about CW being a 'life saving
mode'? Other modes are much more efficient AND don't give me that old
baloney story about how if a microphone quits working in an emergency a
CW op could short the mike wires together to send code!"

Very calmly, the first amateur explained:

"I call CW a 'life saving mode' because if my wife knew what I was
saying about her when I am on the air, she would KILL me..."
