What "kind of operating" is that?  I was also a ham 
in the 60's, and it seems the operating is pretty much
the same, except for the introduction of several new
modes, a ton of new technology, and a lot more
hams.  I didn't notice that incentive licensing improved
ham radio, and I haven't noticed that 5WPM Morse
tests have diminished it.
