[Fists] 40 Meters Revisited!

I have heard a lot of suggestions regarding the QRM from SSB. First,
here in the Southwest, it goes a little beyone just the Canadians. We
have the Spanish Speaking hams, or whoever they are, and believe me
they have the cloud burners. Last night I called a CQ on .057 (sorry
Hans) and one them came on the frequency and he was S9+40 dB. If you
think my little beeps would make a difference to him, you must be
smoking some funny stuff. There is no way I could compete with that, and
I have what I consider a great station, ICOM 746 with 250 hZ first and
second IF filters and on top of that, a Timewave DSP-9+ which goes to
100 hZ bandwidth. As for Dwights suggestion re: 160 and 80 meters.
That's great but I cannot put up antennas for those bands due to
problems with restrictions in my neighborhood, and verticals are too
noisey. So, I make do with what I have. If we get a KW ampl and QRM
these guys with high power CW, then the political correct gestapo
will come down on us for intentional interference. Still don't know the
answer but can enjoy the band in the afternoons anyway before the skip
gets me into Mexico and Central America and the Canadians who make it
in here. So, you folks that can go to 160 and 80, I am jealous and can
only listen to you enjoy the frequencies.
