The gift of gab isn't easy to come by ... I tune the bands each
evening and always find someone sending CQ on CW. I answer them and
about the time we have traded RST, names, QTH, rig and WX info they
tell me, "well abt time for chow BT tnx fer fb QSO BT 73 73".

I suppose they could be sending that with their memory keyer too ...
not much different than your experience on psk31, eh?

Yawn. Everybody chases numbers but nobody wants to chat. Everybody
wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die. Where have all the
ragchewers gone?

With all of the attention that digital psk mode is getting and the
fact
that the fcc wants to promote amateur digital and looks to be willing
to
give in to the arrl refarming proposal, I decided that it was time to
try it. So the other day I built an interface and in less than 2 days
was bored with it. Where is the fun of it.? I don't see it. It
certainly don't take any skill to work it. Its about as boring as an
AOL
chat room and even then I get much longer qso's out of cw most of the
time. On psk you use macro's to type "ur IMD is xx, an info file and a
brag file and then you say goodbye". Geez they got a mode that anyone
who can read can understand without having to try, and people still
won't hold a ragchew to save their bacon.
