A radio club on the west coast sponsored a Bug-Key-Night (BKN) on Jan 31 
a few years ago.  It seems to have died, but it sure was fun.

ARRL runs Straight Key Night on Dec 31, but I'm always with the XYL 
ushering in the New Year, so never get to operate SKN.  (ARRL seems to 
have forgotten Point 5 of The Amateur's Code: The amateur is 
balanced...Radio is his hobby.  He never allows it to interfere with the 
duties he owes to his home, hsi job, his school, or his community.)

So, YES!  ... It's a good idea.  Let's do it.
