166.250 and 170.150 are two oddball freqs every fed monitor should know
about. Going back to the 1950s, I believe, these two frequencies were set
aside for fire use within a 150-mile radius of New York City. For years,
Philadelphia fire used 170.150 for repeater output and 166.250 for repeater
input for fire rescue (ambulance, then EMS). 


Outside that range, the two frequencies are used by TV and radio stations
for remote pickup (on-scene and dispatch).
