4)         50/50 Drawing: Jason (KC8PCU) was the lucky winner

5)         VP’s Notes: Dene’ (N5XDM) shared no remarks

6)         Secretary’s Comments: Ryan (KC8HDG) apologized for the tardy posting of last month’s minutes.

7)         VE’s Comments: John (KD8ZKE) was proud to announce that his grandson took and passed his General Class Examination on Saturday. Congratulation to Taylor (KL5ZA) and thank you to all the VE’s that came to together on short notice to make this happen! The VE’s will be getting together again this Saturday (7/25/26) for another testing session for one or possibly two new prospective amateurs.

8)         Department Reports and Discussion

A) Repeater Committee- No next work day was scheduled. The possibility of swapping repeaters was mentioned. The idea of purchasing a new amplifier was deemed within the club’s financial means.

B)   Treasurer’s Report- Treasurer's Report: reported by Jan Tropf.  Motion to approve finance report and the paying of bills made by KE8VFR/KC8PCU:  Approved. Mention was made to finish reimbursement of the club’s checking account from the recent creation of a savings account

C)   Winter Hamfest (12/05/26)- One large raffle for cash was agreed upon for the winter fest. There will be 300 tickets sold at $10 each for a chance to win $1,000. The raffle will be referred to as “Winterfest Cash”. A motion was made to pay the Delta Legion $775 for the hall rental (KC8PCU/KE8OKA) once they make the contract available to us. The motion was approved. VE Testing will be conducted at the Fest and having one Lecture/Seminar presented. Accommodating both testing and lecture in a quiet and warm room was mentioned as a concern and will be addressed. Having a readily available/easily viewable schedule of the fest’s events was also discussed. Placing the schedule on the back of entry tickets and on monitors was the suggested solution.

9)         Old Business

Summer Field Day report was given by Carl (AA8YY). Contacts were as follows:

(4) 2M FM     x 1

(6) 10M SSB  x 1

(19) 15M CW x 2

(38) 20M SSB x 1

(34) 40M SSB x 1

That’s 120 points. Multiply by x 2 for generator/battery= 240. Add 100 x 3A brings the total to 540 points. Then add 50 points because we have a website and our official grand total becomes 590 points. Having club promotional literature, elected officials or first responders in attendance would have added to the point total (sorry I was in Europe).

Disposition of our current generator

10)       New Business

A) Winter Hamfest organization, promotions, and door prizes discussion.

B) Doing an outdoor meeting was brought up at Homecoming Park so we could also set up an HF Station to participate in TMRA’s net which occurs on the same night as our meeting.

C) Still need to get Official License Holder Certificate transferred to the new repeater trustee.

11)       Good of the Club

A) Getting more youth interest and catering more to YL’s were also topic points.

B) Organizing a joint participation event between TMRA/FCARC was mentioned.

C) Next Field deployment exercise will be August 8th, 2026.

D) Partnering with the Adrian Club for OSPOTA was mentioned as a possibility in the future

E) Next Fox Hunt date still to be determined

12)       Adjournment

A motion to adjourn was made by W8TUX and seconded by KE8OKA. All were in favor.  KB8ELG closed the meeting at 8:15pm
