I thought I would warn people of a scammer on a Face Book
"Motorola Radio Exchange & Expertise" Group. This guy
usually offers high end Motorola APX radios but has posted some
Quantar and other repeater equipment for sale. The seller is
"Randolph J Marczan" and he uses Venmo, Zello or a Paypal
account out of Mexico to steal money. Then he gets random
positive feedback posts where someone posts pictures of $5k to
$30k worth of APX radios they claim to have just purchased from
Marczan and tell how the purchase was smooth. All the positive
posts sound the same and nearly all the accounts are new with
little info given.
It also appears the admins or moderators of that group are
corrupt as any negative posts about Marczan or people saying
they have been ripped off get quickly removed. I complained to
one of the group admins and my posting rights were taken away.
There are pictures on the Facebook page for Randolph J
Marczan including a ham station and vehicle (with plates blacked
out) with a mobile ham setup but with little other info on the
FB page. I searched FCC records and there is nobody with the
last name of Marczan with an amateur radio license in the US.
The scammer Marczan tells people he is in North Carolina but
there is another FB account of a Randy Marczan that has a few of
the same pictures and appears to be the same person but in West
Nyack, NY and there is verifiable info on real estate and other
things on that guy.
Anyway, Marczan got me for $250 and a few others I found for
a lot more. Hope nobody else falls victim to this scammer.
