Subject: Fw: [FCARC] 2m simplex net this Sunday

Good morning -
It has been discussed about moving to other channels on the
up-coming 2m simplex net, so that we could see if there is any
difference in signal strength on something other than our normal channel
- that said, I have done some looking into what frequencies that we
could use that won't bother too many people if we show up to do radio
checks, and I have come up with this plan -
Starting on 146.460 with the regular net, after the first round,
anyone that is interested in moving around to various channels is
welcome to do so - as we show up on a new frequency, allow me to check
to see if that channel is in use, and then I will do a roll call of the
parties that are involved, and we will exchange signal reports - then on
to the next frequency and follow that same method. This may show some
anomalies as our RF signals may change according to frequency.
I suspect that signals will change a small amount, depending on how
your 2m antenna is designed and how your antenna matches at the
frequencies involved - this could be an understatement, too, so this is
why we will try this experiment and we'll all see what develops.
The channels will be as follows -
146.460
144.500
145.500
147.500
IF, you plan on being involved, please set your radio into VFO mode
so that you can roll to the frequencies needed, or pre-program these
into memory channels (the VFO mode would probably be the better choice,
as I assume we won't use these other channels at any other time) and we
all should be set to go.
If someone would care to forward this onto the club social media,
that would be helpful.
Thanks for your attention
