Hi folks,

We are less than two weeks from ARRL Field Day 2024 and want an idea of who plans to operate this year.

Field Day 2024 will be June 22 and 23.  Plan on setting antennas on June 21.  The contest runs 24 hours, starting at 2 pm EDT.  We operate under the club call sign K8BXQ.

The latest rule for Field Day are here: https://www.arrl.org/files/file/Field-Day/2024/2024%20Field%20Day%20Packet%20v1.pdf

Please RSVP back to me if you plan on attending, also indicate if you plan to bring a radio, and last but not least if you have a laptop to run the logging software (the software specs are very modest, it will run on just about any Windows system back to XP).  Also, let us know you favorite pizza topping...not saying we are doing pizza for dinner, but it is an option.

Thoughts on setup if you plan to bring a radio:

1. think about your antenna setup and make sure you have enough feed line and a way to get it in the air if it's a wire
2. bring a manual tuner if you have one
3. bring a power supply and adequate extension cords to get to the power panel for the generator
4. computer logging sometimes fails, bring a notebook and pen(s)/pencil(s)
5. We run a closed wireless network, just about any laptop with a wifi adapter should be able to connect to the wireless SSID. Windows XP/Vista7/10/11 should all work.

As always, think about your comfort when setting up, have a good chair, a sun shade might also be good, and bring an e-z up if you have one. Think about bug spray as well, and maybe even a fan if it's slated to be a hot day. Last, bring your favorite beverages and plan to have a low-stress and fun time!
