Hello, I will be participating in field day this year.  Planning on running a hex beam and a multi band vertical. We will be on battery power. The station primarily will be running on 20,40,80 and does have the band pass filters needed. Plan on phone through daylight hours, and digital into the evening and overnight. The station will operate under the club call and will be co operated with KE8UTX.  Will see you there.

Subject: [FCARC] Field Day

As we approach Field Day, we are trying to plan out the details so that we can maximize our efforts as a club this year. With that being said, we are needing to know who will be dedicating time this year to operate under the club call sign. If you plan on participating, please respond with what band(s) you plan on running, the mode(s) you are planning on using, if you have band pass filters, if you require power to run your station, what type of antenna(s) you plan on using, and how much time you plan on dedicating. We want to be able to put as many people on the air, for as long as we can, without interfering with each other in order to maximize our points.

We also need to know who will be available to help set up, if anyone is in need of help. We ask that everyone please test your equipment ahead of time, leading up to the event and make sure that everything is functioning properly so we can minimize potential issues and have everyone ready to go at 2:00 P.M.

We are going to need a list for food as well and who will be bringing what, so that we simply don't end up with 26 bags of chips and 28 2 liters of soda.

This year we are also asking everyone who will be camping, to please arrange your campers along the north end of the property. We will need to leave access points along the east side and west side of the property for traffic. Tents, trailers, and other station arrangements will be operating south of the camping area. Please do not park campers by the light pole, near the porta potty.

If you are planning on using multiple antennas, antennas that use ground radials, or other potential trip hazards, please consider using caution tape around your operating area. As most people are now aware, the FCC is requiring that you calculate the RF exposure from your set up's. Caution tape is a great way to ensure that you are keeping people at the distance required to ensure the safety of everyone.

Technicians, there will be a 2m station set up, with a 100 watt radio and rotatable yagi, that will be 30' up, as well as a 10m station for phone. Please don't feel that you can't participate. The 2m station will be open to anyone to run, for as long as they would like to do so.

If sat coms are your thing, we need someone to make attempts at a sat bounce contact. That contact is worth 100 pts.

We are also asking that every Technician and anyone who is an unlicensed visitor, to please visit the shack and see Craig1 to double click the mouse for FT8. It's 2 pts for the contact and 5 pts for education.

Lastly, we ask everyone, please, please, please, unless it's an emergency or a situation that simply can't wait, please, please, do not interrupt operators who are running a rig. At some point, every operator will take a break and will be available to chat and enjoy the company of this club or answer questions you may have.

The goal this year, is to surpass 4,160 pts, which is the club's best score, set in 2011. With the number of operators who have already jumped on board and with the band conditions being in good shape, we have a very real chance of surpassing that score. A big thank you to everyone who has been working to make this the best Field Day event we can possibly have.
